EDTMP

EDTMP

Alternative name:Ethylenediamine tetramethylene phosphonic acid

Molecular formula:C6H20O12N2P4

CAS No.: 1429-50-1

EDTMP is a white crystalline powder with melting point of 215-217 ℃, slightly soluble in water, less than 5% at room temperature, and easily soluble in ammonia water.

Application

EDTMP has a strong ability to chelate metal ions, and its complexation constant with copper ion is the largest among all chelating agents including EDTA. EDTMP is a high-purity reagent and non-toxic. It can be used as a cleaning agent for semiconductor chips in the electronic industry to manufacture integrated circuits; as a carrier of radioactive elements in the pharmaceutical industry, it can be used to check and treat diseases; the chelating capacity of EDTMP is far higher than that of EDTA and DTPA, and can be replaced by edtmpa in almost all places where EDTA is used as chelating agent.
